The President's Recycling Committee encourages the UTA community to recycle whenever possible. UTA began recycling aluminum cans in 1992. Paper recycling was added in 1995, and the recycling program has since expanded to include plastic, laser and ink jet cartridges, fluorescent lamps and ballasts, oil and oil filters, photo fixer, batteries, old cell phones, audio/video tapes, CD/DVDs and computer disks. Apartment and residence hall recycling was made available to students in 2003. The recycling account is now self-sufficient, and in 2004-2005 recycling figures UTA diverted over 454 tons of waste which would otherwise have gone to the landfill. Annual events include Texas Recycles Day, Earth Day, and Clean Your Files Day. IT WORKS WHEN WE ALL PITCH IN! For inquiries, requests, and suggestions please email us at ehsrecycling@uta.edu
We may have a solution, but it will take some work on your part to help curb your influx of junk mail that you receive each and every day.
